teardown: any machine as a 3D simulator you can take apart
A Claude Code skill that answers "how does this work?" by building the machine as one offline 3D page: it runs in the middle, panels read its live numbers, buttons open the part doing the work, and one click blows it apart. It can also record a short tour video of it.

teardown: a robot jumping spider you can take apart
A 25-second film the author made with teardown from one reference picture: a white-and-orange robot spider walks, crouches and jumps while the side panels chart its gait, leg servos and jump height, then the head and abdomen open and the whole body blows apart into its 460 coded parts.

Ask Claude Code how a machine works and teardown has it build the machine as one offline HTML page with three.js: the machine runs in the middle, the panels around it show live numbers from the same model, buttons open…
Build me a teardown of a hydraulic excavator arm I can take apart, then record a 20-second video of it.

Step by step
Open the GitHub repo and look at the bee, scorpion and octopus examples.
Install it with npx skills add elvarofficial/teardown -g -a claude-code, then run npm install && npx playwright install chromium once in the installed folder (Node.js 20 or newer).
Ask Claude Code in plain words, e.g. build me a simulator of a 4-stroke motorcycle engine I can take apart. You can attach a reference picture to set the look.
For a video, ask it to record a 20-second tour; install ffmpeg first, and Python 3 if you want the sound.
Watch out for
Made for Claude Code; other agents are untested. Results lean on a strong model and several rounds of review, so expect long sessions. The parts and numbers are a convincing model, not an engineering-grade simulation, so don't use it as a technical reference.

Which AI agents can use teardown?
It works with Claude Code. The code is on GitHub at elvarofficial/teardown.
Is teardown free?
Free & open source (MIT). No API key. Runs with the Claude plan you already pay for, but a full machine is a long build that uses a lot of your plan's usage.
How do I install teardown?
Run the install command from the README: “npx skills add elvarofficial/teardown -g -a claude-code”. Check the README on GitHub for the latest version, then follow the steps on this page.
Is teardown safe to install?
We read 55 instruction and code files in the repo and found no red flags. That is not a guarantee, so review anything that runs commands on your machine. How to check a skill before you install it →
Stageshow: polished product UI stills and animations from your agent
A design skill plus a small React kit that teaches your agent to make convincing faux product UI: still images, feature cards, cursor-driven demos and bento grids. It plans the story in a few beats, builds from solid examples, then films the result and fixes what it finds.

Motion Prompt: name the motion you want, then hand it to your agent
A clickable library of 192 named effects (motion-graphics moves, camera moves and transitions, UI parts, landing-page effects, photo looks), each with a moving sample and an example request. Its skill opens the gallery, lets you tick the ones you like and sends their specs and reference code straight to your agent.
