What it does
Drop in a reference video and a one-line brief: a crew of Claude Code or Codex agents breaks down its rhythm, shots and colours, shows you a storyboard, then animates and cross-checks a brand-new 2D video in that style.
ReelMimic studies a reference clip (cut rhythm, shot lengths, transitions, colours, camera moves), shows you a storyboard to approve, then splits the work across up to six agents. Every finished shot is checked by a…

Step by step
Open the GitHub repo and watch the three demo clips at the top.
Install Node.js 22.18+, Python 3.10+, FFmpeg and Chrome, with Claude Code or Codex logged in.
Clone the repo, run ./install.sh then ./start.sh (Windows: install.bat, start.bat) and open http://localhost:4318.
Drop in a reference clip or link, describe your video, approve the storyboard and follow the production line.
Watch out for
It copies technique, not content: use references you are allowed to study and keep the characters and story your own. 2D only, tested mostly on Windows. It burns a lot of plan usage and pauses when you hit a limit. The Codex setting defaults to full machine access so the renderer can run Chrome. Optional posting to social accounts goes through a paid third-party service; you don't need it.
