What it does

Runs free scanners on the lines you changed, then a separate Claude Code or Codex session checks every finding, so your agent fixes real problems before the code leaves your machine.

OpenQodex reviews your code change before you push it: the commits you have not pushed plus everything uncommitted. First it runs the scanners that fit the files you changed, then a separate Claude Code or Codex…

Step by step

  1. Open the GitHub repo and read the README.
  2. Install Node 22+ and git (macOS or Linux), then run npx openqodex init in your project. It lists the files it will write and asks you once.
  3. Say to your agent: "review my change with openqodex", or run ~/.openqodex/bin/openqodex review in your terminal.
  4. Read the receipt and report.html, then tell the agent which findings to fix, or "fix all".

Watch out for

Still before version 1.0, so commands and settings can change. The AI reviewer sends your change to the model service behind your Claude Code or Codex login. Cursor and Cline can start a review but need Claude Code or Codex installed to do it. Not tested on Windows. The push check only warns until you set it to block.
